Previously, when a new  directory was added to:

     /disks/data/<new-directory>

it was (by default) also added to the web server (research/sprg), and made public at:

     https://research.ssl.berkeley.edu/data/<new-directory>

From now on, unless specifically requested by the PI/owner, a  “<new-directory>”  will not automatically be added to the web server in this location.

For all existing web-accessible directories, the PI/owner should allow public web access or restrict/limit access using a htaccess file.
