-
You can do this part at your home if you wish.
- Connect your phone’s WiFi to SSL-AIR-GUEST to connect to the internet.
- Go to Settings icon → scroll down and tap on Security → then tap on Security Update
- Once you have fully updated the security you are ready.
The first thing you need to do is to make sure the Android security on your phone is fully up to date and rebooted.
If you have not completed the updates or only partially updated, you may not be able to connect to SSL-AIR2
These instructions may differ on your make and model of your phone. I have based these instructions off of my Google Pixel phone. Please adapt accordingly if needed.

Close all your phone apps and browsers.
After you are back to the Settings page → tap on Network & Internet → tap on Wi-Fi
Look on the list, find and select SSL-AIR2

Make sure the following parameters are set correctly:
-

Phase 2 authentication → MSCHAPV2
Tap just below the CA certificate heading → and using the pulldown select Use system certificates
Online Certificate Status → choose Do not verify
Domain → ssl.berkeley.edu

Anonymous identity → leave blank
Password → your SSL LDAP password
Scroll down and tap Save at the bottom of the screen
You should be able to connect to SSL-AIR2 now.
I tested and validated this on my personal Pixel 7 phone. These instructions should work for all Pixel phones and future Android versions.
