Working from home

IT support is available via remote applications when working at home. Remember that the IT unit may also be working at home, so please be thoughtful of request you make.

If you feel that you need support, please email helpdesk@ssl.berkeley.edu to put in a help desk ticket.

Campus has put together some content for telecommuting securely, COVID-19 related phishing, and other resources to help guide you and others during this time.

Connecting to SSL resources
VPN – Virtual Private Network for SSL

Please note: the Campus VPN service is NOT the same as the SSL VPN service.

VPN access will allow you to securely connect your computer or mobile device located away from SSL, directly into SSL’s network system through the internet using the Cisco Anyconnect VPN software.

Your computer will behave as if it were sitting here at SSL, connected through an encrypted network connection.

You may not be able to access all campus computing resources due to security reasons.

If you don’t have VPN access already, please send an email to:
helpdesk@ssl.berkeley.edu to request access. We will let you know when it is ready.

For instructions and information see:

(Please go to the above URL to read the VPN installation instructions, especially Mac users)
